Welcome to the SMCC Bookstore

We have all the supplies you need.  We carry textbooks, school supplies, gifts, accessories and a wide variety of great Southwest gear to show your support for the Bears!

COURSE MATERIAL FEE

A course material fee is added to every student’s account in the Business Office each semester.  This fee covers student access to eBooks for their classes.   The full time fee is $250 and the part time fee is $125.  Students with approved gifts or scholarships may use their financial aid for this fee.

In addition to the fee, students have the option to purchase a paper copy of the needed book(s) in the bookstore.

The bookstore accepts cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.

LOW-COST EDITION TEXTBOOKS

Although Southwest currently uses eBooks, the bookstore still provides a selection of low-cost edition textbooks for those that need them to supplement their eBooks.  They range in price from $25-$30.  Students may purchase these copies only after the course material fee has been paid.

ELECTRONICS

The bookstore offers a selection of electronics (tablets, Chromebooks and laptops) in order to give students access to their eBooks.  These items can be purchased using financial aid.  There is a limit of 3 items per student, per semester.

FINANCIAL AID CHARGES

Starting at the beginning of each semester, students are allowed to use their financial aid funds to purchase any items in the bookstore.  In order to make these purchases with financial aid money, students must present bookstore staff with their student ID.  These charges will be deducted from the student’s financial aid.  Once financial aid refunds are issued students must wait until the next semester to once again use their financial aid for bookstore purchases.

POST OFFICE

The post office is also housed inside the bookstore.  Students may rent a P.O. Box by filling out the Student Mailbox Application and paying an annual fee of $15.00 to the Business Office.  P.O. Boxes are for dorm students only.

ATM

For your convenience, an ATM is located near the bookstore on the outside of the Horace Holmes Student Union.  The ATM is accessible 24/7.
