About the Program

The postsecondary Electrical Technology program prepares individuals to install, operate, maintain, and repair electrically -energized systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electric wiring, and D.C. and A.C. motors, controls, and electrical -distribution panels. Instruction in the use of test equipment is included. An Associate of Applied Science degree is awarded upon successful completion of the two year program.

 

Admission Requirements

Priority given to applicants with ACT composite of 16 or equivalent ACCUPLACER score. All applicants must present documents of their scores.

 

Job Opportunities

The program has an excellent reputation with local industries looking for skilled workers and placement of students who complete the program is a top priority. Typical jobs filled by students who have completed this program include wiring residential, industrial and/or commercial installations.
